Track Day at County Line?

I have been wanting to go to a track lately because I've never been to one and was wondering if anyone here was interested in going there on a Saturday within the next two weeks. $25 gets you in all day as many runs as you can get in, I was thinking of making this an all day thing, like from 12pm to 8pm or something like that, they don't close till midnight anyways so if you wanted to stay longer you're more than welcome to. So, anyone down for Saturday, April 4th?

I would like to get a group out there too. The next few weekends is going to be tough. This weekend is the Cheetah's show and a few of us will be up in JAX. The weekend of the 4th, a few of us have a Birthday Party on Sat. and the BIG Festival Flea Market Car Show is on Sunday. (I WILL BE POSTING ABOUT THAT SHOW AND STARTING A LIST BY THE END OF TODAY!) The weekend of the 11th is a good possibility and the weekend of the 18th is a car show up at the Seminole Hard Rock. I think our best bet is the weekend of the 11th or the 25th.

Check those times for T&T - I think both County Line and PBIR run evenings, not days.

After hearing all the stories of County Line, I don't think I'd go there. Between the fights, the poor traction and track conditions, etc. plus its only an 1/8 mile. Let me know if anyone has any GOOD stories or experiences there...as I've never been and am only going by what people have told me. For me, I'd suggest Moroso (PBIR). Been there in the past a lot and has always been fun. Probably a lot more professional and safer. So if you decided on going there, Test and Tune are Friday nights starting at like 5, and I'd be in for that.

Also, since you said you haven't done it before, if you are 13.99 and faster, you'll need a helmet. So be prepared - otherwise they won't let you run.

The track is certainly better that it was at the begining, however they don't treat the track for the entire 1/8th. As soon as I came out of the treatment in 3rd gear, I blew the tires off the car....I was on street tires, but It did get the adrenalin pumping.

My problem is I can't run PBIR because I'm in a vert and in the low 10's and no roll cage, so I'm pretty much stuck at county line if I want to run.

Considering none of us have 1200hp cars and because of a bad economy, I don't think you can beat the $25 entry fee at county line. As far as fights go, I have friends that have gone there 4 times in the last two months and stayed there all day and didn't see anything go wrong. It might be a 1/8th mile track, but it's better and safer than the highways and we can record some 60' times and have a good time. Well then you guys want to make the 11th or the 25th an official track day at county line? Is this going to be a club event? If so, maybe Ruben can call them and tell them were taking XX number of cars and maybe drop the price down to $15 or $20 per entry? Let me know I REALLY want to do this. Plus I think I can beat Pete out the hole since he did beat me from a 60 roll in the CTS-V...I want payback! And to have a good time of course Wink

Good to hear about the conditions - I had heard some bad stories from some of our members...and just FYI - its $25 at Moroso too (wow I remember when it was $10 to run...sheesh...getting old). But I guess your looking at the shorter drive. I always considered the drive up there as practice Smile

. And a lot can happen in 1/8 mile - in fact most of the wrecks I've seen at Moroso and at Gainesville have been before the 1/8.

But....great idea about the group discount! Just called the track phone and he's got a message telling about the upcoming events - so there may be no one monitoring the calls.

I'm in for either date...but since I'm still making payments on the GTO, the whole kids-family-work-responsibility thing, and the fact the monte still has no motor, trans, fuel system, electrical...etc...***SIGH*** in it, I'll watch. I'll bring the camera though and record everyone's launches if you want to review for later Smile

I had a good time when I went. Check out the Harley Truck smacking down on some Gt pony!! i barely got beat by the police car when I raced it though. I am down to go but I would have to get sponsored by a few of you guys if I did go. My job situation is really bad, I have a BP card for gas and 8 dollars in my bank Crying or Very sad

I have always busted my butt working. Thats how I paid for my toys!! I have never had this much trouble getting a descent friggin job.

Been there before and im not a big fan. If you have been to moroso then you would see the huge difference, by the time your car hooks your already out of road. If you guys go then i'll just go and watch but to run my car, the up keep is not all that great, traction sucks even with slicks, and its somewhat unorganized. Thats just my opinion but hey your right money is tight so why not. Im down to go watch if we make this happen. But whenever we go to moroso you guys knowim there Twisted Evil

I go but just to see you guys race, my Scion is not up to standards to race at the moment but it will when my wife get me the turbo kit... sshhh she don't know yet hahaha
