1st Annual Cruise to commemorate the Great Auto Race of 1909 will occur at the end of this month. The trip will follow the path taken by 18 cars as they raced around Central and Northern Florida in an effort to bring attention to the need to improve roads in Florida. Their efforts led to state spending on roads increasing from $19,000 to $1,000,000 a year later.
This first cruise will blaze the trail for future years “races”, and will make stops in almost all towns visited back in 1909. We depart for Tampa on Friday January 27th and return to Miami on Sunday January 29th. Plenty of room for any who want to join – visit http://www.speedstyleandperformance.com/SSP/forum/index.php?/topic/2415-ssp-great-florida-race-2017-january-28-29-2016/ for more details.
